Our location at Port Allen Small Boat Harbor, on the sunny South side of Kauai, provides optimum weather, ocean conditions, fishing grounds and access to scenic destinations.

Born in the islands, I have been fishing in Hawaiian waters since I was eight. Experience is a great teacher and great teaching comes with experience. When it matters, and it always matters, there is no substitute for knowledge. Our team understands what it takes to make it happen day in and day out. With a hardworking, be prepared, and keep-it-simple approach to each day we are dedicated to making sure your opportunities are rewarded. Our team is here to make it fun and safe. Simply put, Location, Location, Location! Calmer leeward waters offer the best ocean conditions nearly every day of the year. Docked in PORT ALLEN SMALL BOAT HARBOR, our fleet accesses the leeward waters of KAUAI. Our favorable location affords us instant access to the island’s calmer leeward waters while granting access to the NA PALI coast and the ISLAND of NIIHAU. Remote and plentiful, the westernmost waters in the United States are at our jetty wall. Fishing from our legendary fishing machine makes “CONTACT” fun. This vessel is not a yacht; it is a machine. Imitated but never duplicated, this vessel offers performance, stability, strength, beauty and fun.

Since 2002 I have owned and operated Deep Sea Fishing Kauai, where I provide opportunities for others to experience the incredible thrill of landing big game fish. I enjoy providing opportunities for “friends” to experience……fish.  Having been raised by my father Conrad on Kauai, who was diving and fishing since 1971, I was encouraged to learn quick and work hard but never growing up. Taking the wheel at thirteen was a big responsibility as well as opportunity to learn the waters. I grew to love fishing and that is what I do.  I am still blessed to share this unique and exciting experience with you. I invite you to join our team for an adventure like no other. OUR FISHING VESSEL

 
Our completely refurbished and custom vessel is located at Port Allen Small Boat Harbor. Our 32′ Blackfin (CONNIE CLAIRE) is known for unmatched performance and enduring beauty. The 32′ Blackfin has carved out a reputation that resonates worldwide. Designed and constructed for the open ocean with a proven performance hull, low center of gravity and wide bean for stability.  Powered aggressively with twin screws for speed and maneuverability, our fishing vessel is a formidable fishing machine capable in any conditions. Our fishing vessel is outfitted with Shimano TIAGRA 30’S, 50’S 80’S and 130’S on custom CALSTAR 80 rods for feel when you want it and power when you need it. Light tackle options exist with Shimano TORIUM reels mounted on Shimano TREVALA rods. Connie Claire is equipped with a marine head with privacy door for longer tours.

TAXES & FEES:

Charter rates are subject to State of Hawaii Excise Tax of 4.712%, a 3% State Harbor Tax and the Ocean Users Fee of $1 per passenger.

OUR VESSEL IS COMMERCIALLY LICENSED, FULLY INSURED AND USCG COMPLIANT.  ALL TACKLE & EQUIPMENT PROVIDED

Island fruit juices, ice and bottled water included.

Expect to meet early (5:30 AM Summer, 6:30 AM Winter) for morning charters and 1:00 PM or 2:00 PM for afternoon trips.  Arrangements may be made to accommodate events.

Buy a fishing license

The State of Hawaii requires all non-residents (15 and older) to have a Recreational Ocean Fishing License, which you may purchase online the morning of your tour for $20.00 per angler.  Active duty military personnel do not need a license.

    Great trip

    Great time with Capt. Jeff. I fish a lot and run my own boat in California so I have experience to give the following review. The boat (Big Ta Do) is in great shape, fast and clean. The tackle is top-shelf gear. We fished a 6-hour trip and we scored a nice Ono and a beast 200 lb yellowfin. The fish was very tough and gave us all we could handle but Jeff is a pro and his deckhand was very good and they worked well together. What I liked is Jeff was upfront about the seas and what to expect and gave us the choice of where to go. I always recommend deferring to good Captains as they are the local knowledge. This trip is a perfect example of that as many other boats struck out but we scored big!

    A great deep sea fishing experience

    I have fished with Captain J @ Deep Sea Fishing Kauai several times, and have had the best fishing experience every time. Captain J is certainly the most experienced charter fishing Captain offering deep sea fishing adventures on Kauai. No one will work harder to make your fishing experience memorable and successful. His knowledge of where to go and what type of fish are available each season is remarkable. He has fished this area for many years and his expertise shows. The quality and condition of his boat and the gear aboard is first-rate.

    Life Long Memories

    I took my 15-year-old boys fishing in Kauai on the less windy side of the island. I was not disappointed in Captain Jude, this guy is a fisherman to his very core. My entire family was instantly part of his family. What a great boat 31 Bertram. We caught a Tuna that was probably pushing 200lbs. We caught a short-billed spearfish too.) My Son turns to me as we are talking to the deckhand and says Dad the only thing that would make this day better is if we hooked into a Blue Marlin. The center line rips off as if we were hooked to a freight train. After 2 hours and 20 minutes the 600 lb Blue Marlin was at the side of the boat. This was an EPIC day! We are going back this year and are for sure going out with Captain Jude to make more life long memories!

    Unforgettable experience!

    I had always wanted to go deep sea fishing so on this trip I took my 15-year-old niece. Captain J made our angler dreams come true! Out of our 13 days on Kauai, our 3 days going out deep sea fishing were our best days! The first fish to hit the line was a "very large Marlin"! My niece was on the line for about a half hour with our dream fish and Captain J was coaching her the entire time! Even though the Marlin got away, we had an awesome & exciting experience. We headed further out to sea and caught several Mahi-Mahi & several Yellow Fin Tuna & learned to do the hand line jig! We would highly recommend going deep sea fishing especially with Captain J! We can't wait to go again!
