For those of you who are returning we are in the same slip in Port Allen, FIRST SLIP, FIRST DOC. For you new anglers, we know you may not have been to the island before so check out the map and go over the directions below. Please avoid calling at 6:30 am from Kekaha because you missed the turn at McDonalds in Eleele.
FROM THE NORTH AND EAST SIDE
Get on Highway 50 (the one that goes around the whole island). Head WEST. Go to the intersection where the airport is located. Yes it's the pretty one with flowers and waterfalls. At the intersection you will be at Kaumualii Highway (Kuhio turned in to Kaumualii at the Hanamaulu turn but you wouldn't know that) and Ahukini. TURN RIGHT AT THIS TRAFIC LIGHT. Head Mauka (toward the mountain) until the next traffic light. This is Ahukini and Kuhio Highway (Highway 50). Turn LEFT and proceed through Lihue town. There is a McDonalds here but its not the one in Eleele so don't get confused. Keep going West for about 16 miles. You will see a McDonalds on the left. Turn LEFT just before the McDonalds. This is Kuhio Highway and Waialo. Head MAKAI (toward the ocean). You will be going down a slight hill. A commercial center will be on your right and it has all the NaPali tour companies. Turn RIGHT just after the center and before the dirt parking lot. Proceed down the hill. YOU MADE IT! Park on the right side jetty. Use the restroom. Get your things (what to bring). Captain J will be along sooner or later to take you fishing.
FROM POIPU
Get to Koloa Town. There is a Chevron gas station located here. When coming up from Poipu the station will be on your right and you will be heading Mauka (toward the mountain). Turn LEFT at this intersection. You are now on Koloa Road. It is a back country road that will meander along for about 5 miles. It will bring you to a traffic light at the intersection of Kuhio Highway (Highway 50) and Koloa Road. Turn LEFT and proceed WEST for about 10 miles. You will see a McDonalds on the left. Turn Left just before the McDonalds. This is Kuhio Highway and Waialo. Head MAKAI (toward the ocean). You will be going down a slight hill. A commercial center will be on your right and it has all the NaPali tour companies. Turn RIGHT just after the center and before the dirt parking lot. Proceed down the hill. YOU MADE IT! Park on the right side jetty. Use the restroom. Get your things (what to bring). Catain J will be along sooner or later to take you fishing.
FROM THE WEST SIDE
If you are staying on the WEST SIDE you are like family already so you know where you are. But in case you had too much at the Luau last night pay attention. Get on Highway 50 (Kuhio Highway) and head EAST. Proceed though Hanapepe Town and go up the hill on the other side. There is a McDonalds on the right. Turn RIGHT just after the McDonalds. This is Kuhio Highway and Waialo. Head MAKAI (toward the ocean). You will be going down a slight hill. A commercial center will be on your right and it has all the NaPali tour companies. Turn RIGHT just after the center and before the dirt parking lot. Proceed down the hill. YOU MADE IT! Park on the right side jetty. Use the restroom. Get your things (what to bring).Captain J will be along sooner or later to take you fishing.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SKIP THE COFFEE AT THE MCDONNALDS. IF YOU NEED A CUP THEN DRINK SOME WATER ONCE ON THE BOAT.
